"Things To Live By" Exhibition

A beautiful exhibition "Things To Live By" is currently taking place at Galway City Museum at the Spanish Arch, Galway from 11th to the 15th of December.

This exhibition is a collaborative project between The Forge Clay Studio and members of  The Croí na Gaillimhe Social Club, based on the idea of shared memories. The work produced is a fantastic testament to both groups with some truly stunning pieces on show from oil paintings, clay models, stained glass and ceramic pieces to collages.

The opening reception took place on Wednesday, the 12th of December and Croí na Gaillimhe were delighted to be invited to attend the event, where guest speakers included Arts Council Officer, James Harold and members of The Forge Project and Croí na Gaillimhe manager Loretta Needham also said a few words about the project.
It was a lovely afternoon with some wonderful musicians opening proceedings followed by refreshments provided by the 'The Kitchen' Cafe at the Museum. The exhibition itself runs until Saturday the 15th of December and all are very welcome.

A big thank you to everyone who nominated projects for the STAR Awards 2013

We received a total of 115 projects entered in five categories. The nominations are now winging their way to the STAR Awards Judging Panel! The Judging Panel will begin the difficult task of shortlisting all the nominations. The shortlist will then be available in January and the judges will meet with all shortlisted projects to decide on the winner in each category. It's going to be a difficult choice for them as the nominations are all fantastic!
